SBA List Candidate Fund Congratulates Mimi Walters in CA-45 Primary Win

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund, a national pro-life political action committee, congratulated its endorsed candidate State Senator Mimi Walters for winning the Republican primary for California’s 45th U.S. congressional district.

“State Senator Walters has served California women, children and families for 18 years. We are proud to support her and look forward to her General Election victory in November,” said Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Mimi’s experience and passion for protecting life will make her a strong addition to the House Pro-life Women’s Caucus.”

“As a wife, mother, business owner, and longtime public servant, Mimi has spent years building up women in leadership roles. She is a trailblazer in the mold of Susan B. Anthony herself and exactly the type of candidate we exist to support.”

Elected to the California State Senate in 2008, Walters currently represents California’s 37th District. Previously, Walters served in the State Assembly, on the Laguna Niguel City Council, and as Mayor of Laguna Niguel. State Senator Walters earned a 100 percent rating from the California Pro-Life Council during her time in the California State Assembly and Senate.

Prior to serving in elected office, Walters spent seven years as an investment executive at a major banking firm. She is the founder of the California Women’s Leadership Association and served on the Board of the National Association of Women Business Owners.

This seat is being vacated by retiring Rep. John Campbell (R) who has endorsed Mimi Walters’ candidacy.

The Susan B. Anthony List and its affiliated Political Action Committees, the SBA List Candidate Fund and Women Speak Out PAC, are dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women at all levels of government.  The SBA List is a network of more than 365,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
