Emily Buchanan is the Executive Director of the Susan B. Anthony List. Emily is from Virginia Beach, Virginia and a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she studied government and bioethics. She is responsible for managing and executing SBA List's programs. Emily ensures that all the working parts work together to accomplish our mission.
Prior to joining the Susan B. Anthony List in January of 2007, Emily worked at the Carlyle Gregory Company, a political consulting company specializing in Congressional campaigns. She has also worked for Delegate Rob Bell (R-VA) in both his campaign and legislative office. Emily dedicates one week of every summer to Student Leadership University, a faith based leadership training program for high school students.
Director of Government Affairs
Billy Valentine is the Deputy Director of the Susan B. Anthony List. Billy is a native of Alexandria, Virginia and a graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville, where he studied legal studies and human life studies. Billy is responsible for developing and implementing the organization’s legislative policy strategy at both the state and federal level.
In the past, Billy has worked in grassroots, communications, and development positions with Sen. Sam Brownback (R-KS) and Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ), in addition to managing a Congressional campaign. During college, Billy served as vice president of Students for Life of America, vice chairman of the Ohio College Republican Federation, and served as student chairman of Catholic Outreach on the McCain campaign. Billy first started working with the Susan B. Anthony List in 2003 as a high school intern.
Billy lives with his wife Natalie and their two sons in Springfield, Virginia and are parishioners of St. Raymond of Penafort Roman Catholic Church.
CLI Development Coordinator
Natalie is the Development Coordinator for the Charlotte Lozier Institute, the SBA List's education and research arm. Originally from Tempe, AZ, Natalie is a 2008 graduate of Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. Natalie's main responsibility is to assist with the SBA List's fundraising efforts and events for our major programs. Prior to joining the Susan B. Anthony List, Natalie worked as the conference director of Students for Life of America, and worked on the presidential campaign of Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) as the database manager and later as the statewide coalitions director in Iowa. Natalie also volunteered for SBA List-endorsed candidate Melissa Hart (R-PA) during the 2008 campaign and attended the Susan B. Anthony List Campaign Tactics Training Academy in Steubenville, Ohio. She lives in Springfield, Virginia with her husband and two sons.
Member Relations Coordinator
As Member Relations Coordinator for the Susan B. Anthony List, Jessica's main responsibilities include but are not limited to donor cultivation mailings, organizing and managing all events, all in-house mailings, and office support for the entire development team. Always a staunch defender of the unborn and their mothers, Jessica was delighted to become actively involved in the pro-life cause as an intern at SBA List in the fall of 2012. She joined the Susan B. Anthony List family full time in May of 2013.
Originally from Massachusetts, Jessica attended Ave Maria University in Florida, where she studied political science and worked as Assistant Counselor in the admissions department. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, coffee and a good book, country music, and hiking the gorgeous Virginia trails.
As Member Relations Officer, Bryant acts as a resource for our key stakeholders, matching their interests with our mission to elect pro-Life leaders dedicated to ending abortion in America.
Growing up listening to Dr. James Dobson, Bryant attended his first pro-life rally when he was six years old. Throughout college Bryant continued his political activism; he worked on the Bush/Cheney campaign in Cleveland, Ohio and served as a field representative with the United States Chamber of Commerce. After graduating from the University of Arizona, Bryant worked with philanthropists to preserve the Reagan Ranch before joining the Susan B. Anthony’s List family.
In his spare time, Bryant plays guitar, beach volleyball, and watches entirely too much college football. Bryant recently married his wife and best friend Michal who is an online editor for The Washington Times; they live in Alexandria, Virginia.
As member relations officer Adam serves as a liaison between our thousands of members and the SBA List team. He connects the work pro-life work of the SBA List with pro-life activist invested in our mission across the country.
Raised in Christian fellowship in Orange County California, Adam has always been a believer and has had strong moral values when it comes to the topic of pro-life. He has always had a passion for children and has worked with multiple groups serving the global mission to save children. Armed with an extensive background in sales and certification in Non-profit Management and Development from the Institute of Philanthropy at the University of Richmond, Adam has joined the SBA List ranks in the fight to end abortion in the United States.
Outside of the business world Adam is a new husband to Alysha Marie, and a new father to Asher David Edmund; with whom he loves to spend all of his free time. His other interests include but are not limited to, American history, running in the Spartan Race, and cooking.
Jeff Quinton is digital director for Susan B. Anthony List. He is a native of Laurens, South Carolina and most recently attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He has worked in politics, government, and the media in his home state and has worked in the DC area for the past several years. Jeff served in the Army National Guard for six years.
Previously, Jeff worked at Americans United for Life. He has also volunteered with 40 Days for Life and participated in pro-life activities through the Knights of Columbus.
Jeff is a Catholic convert and lives in Maryland with his family.
As communications director Mallory oversees messaging and communications to members of the media and to the SBA List grassroots.
After graduating from Loyola University Maryland, she taught English to French high school students before joining the SBA List as an intern in the spring of 2009. Mallory guides SBA List's relationship with broadcast and print news media, oversees our digital communications through the SBA List website and social media platforms, and applies her writing skills to everything from press advisories to op-eds.
Through it all her one mission is to speak the truth in love. “I constantly remind myself of that straightforward goal of communicating – in love – the intrinsic value of each human life, and our responsibility to protect and cherish it.”
Brian McAllister is the Director of Operations for the Susan B. Anthony List. He is responsible for coordinating the data processing needs of the organization, including reporting, data importation and overall data integrity.
Originally from Delaware, Brian is a graduate of Patrick Henry College, where he studied political science and journalism. Before joining the SBA List in July 2011, he spent five years working for telemarketing and polling firm ccAdvertising, were he served as Director of Operations.
Director of the President's Office
As Director of the President's Office Mary is responsible for assisting Marjorie Dannenfelser with her schedule and other administrative responsibilities. A native of Northern California, Mary is a proud graduate of the University of Dallas where she studied History.
Mary came to Washington, D.C., in 2009 where she completed an internship with the Republican Governors Association. She then began working in the pro-life movement at Students for Life of America (SFLA) first as the Operations Coordinator, working in fundraising, and then as the Communications Director, where she was responsible for all external communications, Congressional outreach, special projects, and research. Following her work at SFLA, Mary worked for Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s Presidential Campaign prior to joining SBA List in 2011.
Christie is originally from Liverpool, NY and graduated from Liberty University where she studied International Relations: Strategic Intelligence. As the Office Manager she is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the SBA List including donation management and fielding inquiries from SBA List members. Christie keeps the office running smoothly and also oversees the intern program.
Prior to joining the Susan B. Anthony list, Christie worked as an Executive Assistant for Congresswoman Ann Marie Buerkle (NY-25) and on her 2012 campaign as the Volunteer Coordinator.
Jennifer Gross is the accountant for the Susan B. Anthony List. She is a graduate of Framingham State University in Framingham, MA. Most important amongst her duties, is to report directly to the Executive Director, President, and Treasurer of the organization with real time financial information to assist them in making decisions for the organization. She is committed to the pro-life cause and is thrilled to be able to serve the Susan B. Anthony List in this capacity. Prior to joining the Susan B. Anthony List in 2008, she worked as a staff accountant for a CPA firm in northern Virginia.
Jennifer is also very involved in her catholic parish, serving on the finance council and teaching CCD with her husband, Chris. She and Chris reside in Virginia Beach with their three children, Patrick, Sally, and Cecilia.
Sue Swayze hails from Indianapolis, Indiana where she has worked for more than 25 years in policy development, program design and implementation, lobbying and political strategy.
Sue is the National Pro-Life Women’s Caucus Coordinator for the Susan B. Anthony List and is responsible for implementing the program’s mission of advancing women lawmakers who are dedicated to ending abortion by passing laws that save lives. Sue also serves as Vice President of Public Affairs for Indiana Right to Life where she assists in developing public policy and development strategies and serves as its primary lobbyist and media spokesperson on issues of human life.
Before joining the SBA List and Indiana Right to Life, Sue served as the Communications Director for the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency. Prior to that role, she worked for the Indiana Family Institute and Indiana Right to Life.
Sue is a former Vice President with the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, where she represented the business community, working with local and state officials to advocate for business-friendly regulations and legislation on tax and fiscal issues, infrastructure, environmental and local and government consolidation. She also staffed that chamber’s Political Action Committee. She was also the first Executive Director for the Indiana Christian Chamber of Commerce.
Prior to her years at the chamber, Sue was Policy Director at the United Way of Central Indiana and was active in such issues as child abuse, senior citizen’s services and welfare reform. She founded the Children’s Coalition of Indiana, a statewide children’s advocacy group, which played a key role in the creation of Indiana’s “Kids First” license plate.
Specializing in planning and management, Sue has a master’s degree in Social Work from Indiana University. Sue resides in Indianapolis where she attends Northside Baptist Church. In her free time, Sue enjoys gardening, reading and all outdoor activities. Sue’s Christian faith has led to her commitment to working in the public policy arena on issues affecting life and family.
