Emily Buchanan is the Executive Director of the Susan B. Anthony List. Emily is from Virginia Beach, Virginia and a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she studied government and bioethics. She is responsible for managing and executing SBA List's programs. Emily ensures that all the working parts work together to accomplish our mission.
Prior to joining the Susan B. Anthony List in January of 2007, Emily worked at the Carlyle Gregory Company, a political consulting company specializing in Congressional campaigns. She has also worked for Delegate Rob Bell (R-VA) in both his campaign and legislative office. Emily dedicates one week of every summer to Student Leadership University, a faith based leadership training program for high school students.
Amanda Robey is the Vice President of Development at the Susan B. Anthony List. She works closely with the organization’s leaders and department directors to ensure they have the financial resources they need to elect pro-life candidates who will fight to end abortion in America. She is responsible for overseeing the development staff and all fundraising activities, including growing the donor base, while nurturing existing donor relationships. Before beginning her career in fundraising she graduated cum laude in the class of 2005 from the Jesse Helms School of Government at Liberty University.
Amanda returns to us after serving here during the 2008 election as Development Director. In the interim, she worked under Brad Smith, former FEC Chairman, to create a thriving development program for his newly established think tank, which focuses on rolling back unconstitutional campaign finance reform. In that time, she also provided consulting services to other political nonprofit groups, enabling them to launch successful fundraising strategies.
Throughout all of her fundraising work, the issue of protecting human life has remained at the heart of her ambition. Today she lives in Fairfax with her husband Christian and their sons Samuel and Fletcher.
Director of Policy & Programs
Billy Valentine is the Deputy Director of the Susan B. Anthony List. Billy is a native of Alexandria, Virginia and a graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville, where he studied legal studies and human life studies. Billy is responsible for developing and implementing the organization’s legislative policy strategy at both the state and federal level.
In the past, Billy has worked in grassroots, communications, and development positions with Sen. Sam Brownback (R-KS) and Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ), in addition to managing a Congressional campaign. During college, Billy served as vice president of Students for Life of America, vice chairman of the Ohio College Republican Federation, and served as student chairman of Catholic Outreach on the McCain campaign. Billy first started working with the Susan B. Anthony List in 2003 as a high school intern.
Billy lives with his wife Natalie and their son in Springfield, Virginia and are parishioners of St. Raymond of Penafort Roman Catholic Church.
Natalie Valentine is the Events Manager for the Susan B. Anthony List. Originally from Tempe, AZ, Natalie is a 2008 graduate of Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. Natalie's main responsibility is to assist with the SBA List's fundraising efforts and events for our major programs. Prior to joining the Susan B. Anthony List, Natalie worked as the conference director of Students for Life of America, and worked on the presidential campaign of Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) as the database manager and later as the statewide coalitions director in Iowa. Natalie also volunteered for SBA List-endorsed candidate Melissa Hart (R-PA) during the 2008 campaign and attended the Susan B. Anthony List Campaign Tactics Training Academy in Steubenville, Ohio. She lives in Springfield, Virginia with her husband and son, both named Billy.
Daniel McGiffin is the Development Associate for the Susan B. Anthony List. His duties involve research, contacting prospective members, and fundraising for major programs. Prior to joining SBA List, Daniel attended the University of Notre Dame on an Army ROTC scholarship and graduated in 2012 with a degree from the university's Great Western Books program. While this is Daniel’s first foray into the action arm of pro-life politics, he has never wavered in his firm commitment to the same principles the SBA List holds dear. In addition to his responsibilities at SBA List, Daniel also serves as an officer in the Virginia Army National Guard.
Daniel currently lives in Vienna, his hometown, with his wife Mary and their newborn son Brendan.
As Major Gifts Officer, Bryant acts as a resource for our key stakeholders, matching their interests with our mission to elect pro-Life leaders dedicated to ending abortion in America.
Growing up listening to Dr. James Dobson, Bryant attended his first pro-life rally when he was six years old. Throughout college Bryant continued his political activism; he worked on the Bush/Cheney campaign in Cleveland, Ohio and served as a field representative with the United States Chamber of Commerce. After graduating from the University of Arizona, Bryant worked with philanthropists to preserve the Reagan Ranch before joining the Susan B. Anthony’s List family.
In his spare time, Bryant plays guitar, beach volleyball, and watches entirely too much college football. Bryant recently married his wife and best friend Michal who is an online editor for The Washington Times; they live in Alexandria, Virginia.
Mallory Quigley is the Communications Director for the Susan B. Anthony List. A resident of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Mallory is a 2008 graduate of Loyola University Maryland where she double majored in Political Science and French. As Communications Director, she oversees SBA List messaging and communications to members of the media and to the grassroots. Mallory first joined the SBA List as an intern in the spring of 2009 before expanding the organization’s social media presence as New Media Coordinator.
Prior to joining the pro-life movement full-time, Mallory spent a year teaching English to middle and high school students and learning to ski in La Tour du Pin, France.
Brian McAllister is the Operations Coordinator for the Susan B. Anthony List. He is responsible for coordinating the data processing needs of the organization, including reporting, data importation and overall data integrity.
Originally from Delaware, Brian is a graduate of Patrick Henry College, where he studied political science and journalism. Before joining the SBA List in July 2011, he spent five years working for telemarketing and polling firm ccAdvertising, were he served as Director of Operations.
Laura Schaefer is the Political Coordinator at the Susan B. Anthony List. The daughter of military veterans and diplomats, Laura was raised overseas and moved to the D.C. area to attend Marymount University, where she studied political science and sociology. While in college, Laura joined the SBA List team as an intern for the summer and fall of 2010. She has also held internships with the U.S. State Department and Townhall/Hotair Magazine. After graduating in May of 2011, Laura volunteered as a missionary in the Dominican Republic through the Catholic Diocese of Arlington, VA. After returning in December of 2011, she joined the Susan B. Anthony List full time in early 2012. As Political Coordinator, she oversees the endorsement and support of pro-life candidates at the federal and statewide levels.
Billy is the Legislative Assistant at the Susan B. Anthony List. Originally from Wilton, Connecticut, he is a 2011 graduate of Boston College where he studied history and philosophy, writing a senior thesis on the first Irish Catholic mayor of Boston. As the Legislative Assistant, Billy is responsible for communicating with Congressional offices on legislative initiatives and for researching legislation.
Prior to joining the Susan B. Anthony List full time, Billy spent a summer as an intern for the SBA List as part of the Students for Life of America Missionary of Life program, in addition to interning for SFLA and for Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS). He also worked full-time on a grassroots Congressional campaign. Billy became involved in the pro-life movement while in college, serving as the Vice President of the Boston College Pro-Life Club.”
Emily Rose Goellner
Emily Rose Goellner is Office Manager at the Susan B. Anthony List. Originally from Sauk Centre, Minnesota, Emily is a 2011 graduate from Ave Maria University in Florida, where she studied Sacred Music and Philosophy. In addition to her responsibilities as Office Manager, Emily is also the Intern Coordinator for SBA List.
Executive Assistant to the President
As Executive Assistant to the President Mary is responsible for assisting Marjorie Dannenfelser with her schedule and other administrative responsibilities. A native of Northern California, Mary is a proud graduate of the University of Dallas where she studied History.
Mary came to Washington, D.C., in 2009 where she completed an internship with the Republican Governors Association. She then began working in the pro-life movement at Students for Life of America (SFLA) first as the Operations Coordinator, working in fundraising, and then as the Communications Director, where she was responsible for all external communications, Congressional outreach, special projects, and research. Following her work at SFLA, Mary worked for Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s Presidential Campaign prior to joining SBA List in 2011.
Jennifer Gross is the accountant for the Susan B. Anthony List. She is a graduate of Framingham State University in Framingham, MA. Most important amongst her duties, is to report directly to the Executive Director, President, and Treasurer of the organization with real time financial information to assist them in making decisions for the organization. She is committed to the pro-life cause and is thrilled to be able to serve the Susan B. Anthony List in this capacity. Prior to joining the Susan B. Anthony List in 2008, she worked as a staff accountant for a CPA firm in northern Virginia.
Jennifer is also very involved in her catholic parish, serving on the finance council and teaching CCD with her husband, Chris. She and Chris reside in Virginia Beach with their three children, Patrick, Sally, and Cecilia.
